Police charges Hampton Park man with firearm offences

Police have charged a 27-year-old Hampton Park man with a string of offences after seizing a loaded slam gun, a stolen BMW sedan, a shotgun barrel and a firearm silencer from a residentia Hampton Park property on Wednesday 10 January.

The investigation commenced after police received information the man had firearms.

Police executed a warrant at a residential property in Hampton East during the morning of Wednesday 10 January.

During the search, police located a loaded slam gun, a dismantled stolen BMW sedan, a shotgun barrel, a firearm silencer and quantities of various types of ammunition.

Police charged a 27-year-old man with a prohibited person possessing a firearm, a prohibited person possessing a silencer and possessing ammunition.

He was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates Court on Friday 17 May.
