Players and fans alike can rejoice with the addition of the two-storey pavilion at Robert Booth Reserve now complete.
Backed by a $3 million grant from the Allan Labor Government and a financial contribution of $2.4 million from the City of Casey, the pavilion will cater for Australian football, netball and cricket.
It will also offer much-needed facilities for female players and umpires, with four female friendly change rooms and two female friendly umpires’ rooms.
A first aid room, accessible toilets, community room, kitchen and canteen have also been included to provide a positive experience for all reserve visitors.
As well as the new pavilion, The Hampton Park Tennis Club will also benefit from the installation of 350 lux LED competition lighting installed on four courts at Robert Booth Reserve, thanks to a grant of $204,412 from the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
This will allow for the Hampton Park Football Netball Club and Hampton Park Cricket Club to cater for more players, as more families join Hampton Park’s growing diverse community.
“Robert Booth Reserve is Hampton Park’s sports hub and locals deserve appropriate facilities they can be proud of,” Member for Narre Warren South Gary Maas said.
“The new pavilion and lighting provide a fantastic home for Hampton Park’s sports clubs, providing a greater opportunity to welcome more players and better resources for community events.
“I would like to thank the Hampton Park Football Netball Club, Hampton Park Cricket Club, Hampton Park Tennis Club, Hampton Park CFA and Hampton Park Progress Association for their advocacy to deliver these important projects.
“Better sport and recreation facilities make it easier for Victorians to get involved in local sport and recreation, and lead healthy and active lifestyles.”
