Casey Council will soon be at the forefront of the future of transportation, with a new grant open for organisations working in the space.
The council is launching the Future Mobility Living Lab grant program to foster innovation, research and engagement into ‘future mobility’, improving how people will get around in the future
Aligned with community priorities, the Future Mobility Living Lab focuses on three key areas: safety and inclusion, sustainability, and emerging technology.
It is designed to harness the collective expertise of diverse stakeholders to address critical transportation challenges for a safer, more sustainable and inclusive future in Casey, allowing organisations to enter into a private-public partnership model, fostering dialogue with residents and community groups to find effective solutions.
Casey Council administrators chair Noelene Duff PSM said the initiative is committed to reducing congestion, promoting inclusivity and enhancing environmental wellbeing.
“The Future Mobility Living Lab holds the potential to shape a transportation future that benefits all residents,” she said.
“We encourage businesses, start-ups, non-profits, universities, and research institutions to participate, either by applying for the rant or expressing interest in the upcoming pop-up showcase events planned for 2024.”
An online information session is scheduled for Wednesday 23 August to introduce interested parties to the Future Mobility Living Lab.
The session will provide insights into the initiative’s goals, opportunities for funding and support, and the approach which will be adopted to create a comprehensive roadmap for future mobility in Casey.
