Police were left shaking their heads after unbelievably eight teenagers piled out of a dumped stolen Honda Jazz in Hallam this morning.
Officers first spotted the car in Scotsburn Way in Endeavor Hills when a check of the vehicle, by an unmarked unit, revealed the car to be stolen about 3.15am.
The Air Wing was called in to assist marked and unmarked units on the ground as the small sedan travelled from Endeavour Hills to Power Road in Doveton and then onto Frawley Road, Hallam.
Police successfully deployed stop sticks in Frawley Road, taking out a couple of the car’s tyres, however the car continued on.
As the car entered Saffron Road in Hallam it started to slow and police, including Public Order Response Team officers and local uniform and plain clothes units moved in.
One of the teenagers ran from the scene into a field and jumped a fence to try and get away before they were arrested by the Dog Squad.
The seven other teens were arrested in the vicinity of the dumped stolen car.
The two males and six females, ranging in age from 14-18, are all assisting police with their enquiries.
