Clyde Road is amongst the many local roadways getting an upgrade.

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is undertaking design and planning investigations for the upgrade of Clyde Road between the Princes Freeway and Kangan Drive in Berwick.

MRPV is now seeking feedback from residents and local businesses to help inform planning of the Clyde Road Upgrade.

MRPV is asking locals to explain how they currently travel on and around Clyde Road and the surrounding areas.

They also seek feedback on the efficiency and safety of the road.

Finally, MRPV is requesting information about how local businesses operate and how customers and employees access these businesses.

The upgrades will reduce congestion and improve travel times for all road users, as well as improving community access to local employment and services.

The project will also build on improvements delivered by the Monash Freeway Upgrade and add further capacity to the local road network.

“As part of the Clyde Road Upgrade, we’ll add a lane in each direction between the Princes Freeway and Kangan Drive, and upgrade intersections at Clyde Road and Kangan Drive, and Clyde Road and the Princes Freeway,” said MRPV program director Marc Peterson.

“The upgrade will reduce congestion and improve travel time reliability – ensuring people get to where they need to go sooner and more safely.”

The upgrades will include an additional lane in both directions from the Princes Freeway to Kangan Drive, widening the existing bridge over the Princes Freeway and upgrading the intersection at Kangan Drive.

MRPV will also build new and upgrade existing shared walking and cycling paths.

New street lighting, road signage, drainage and landscaping will also be installed.

Utility relocations on the Clyde Road Upgrade are expected to begin in mid-2023, with major construction to begin later in the year.

The Clyde Road Upgrade is being funded by the Australian Government.
