Colossal crackdown on dangerous drivers

The weekend saw police cracking down on dangerous drivers in a large scale road policing operation on the Monash Freeway, Dandenong North.

The operation covered Friday 10th February & Saturday 11th February.

Police members from Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section Cardinia, Casey & Greater Dandenong joined forces to tackle those who contribute to road trauma in the community.

Operation Colossus resulted in 2,893 preliminary breath tests and 79 oral fluid tests.

Testing led to the discovery of 41 drink drivers and 6 drug drivers.

A total of 18 unauthorised drivers, who were unlicensed or held suspended or disqualified licences, were also caught.

The operation saw 16 cars impounded.

“Every police vehicle is a mobile drug & alcohol testing station and police will continue to hold impaired & unauthorised drivers to account.” Casey Police said.
