Police brief: motorcyclist caught on Thompsons Road

A 24-year-old disqualified learner has had his motorbike impounded after being caught speeding on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne.

The Police Airwing spotted the motorbike allegedly travelling at speeds in excess of 140 kilometres per hour.

When ground police caught-up with the dirver, it was discovered that he was displaying false registrations plates, police say.

He expected is to be charged with disqualified driving, unregistered vehicle, display false plates and speed offences.

His bike was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $969.80.
