Level crossing removal works to begin at Camms Road

Site establishment works in Fairfield street will begin at the Camms Road level crossing next week as crews prepare to remove the crossing by 2024.

From Monday 21 March, Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) staff will begin vegetation clearing, ground improvement works, constructing temporary pavements and the installation of site facilities at Fairfield street.

These works will take place Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturdays between 7am and 5pm until Friday 27 May.

LXRP have warned locals to expect construction noise and activity due to the presence of workers and vehicles in the area.

Temporary traffic management measures will be in place while staff undertake the works, including intermittent road and lane closures and changes to pedestrian access on Fairfield Street.

A pedestrian detour between Ruffy Drive Reserve and Fairfield Street will be in place for the duration of the project.
