Teens targeted by fellow youths in armed robbery

Five teenagers including a 13-year-old Cranbourne South boy have been charged with armed robbery after police intercepted a stolen vehicle in Officer on Wednesday 9 March.

The stolen vehicle was intercepted on at around 9:10pm on Wednesday night.

It is alleged the youths stole a 2012 Holden Captiva from Castillo Avenue Clyde North on Tuesday 8 March before committing an armed robbery in Beaconsfield on Wednesday 9 March.

A 13 and 15-year-old boy were walking along Princes Highway before allegedly being approached by the stolen motor vehicle containing a group of five males.

A knife was produced, and the victim’s mobile phones were stolen.

Police then observed the allegedly stolen vehicle in Clearwater Drive, Pakenham.

Officers followed the vehicle through several streets before making an intercept in Majestic Boulevard, Officer where five boys were arrested.

Dandenong Criminal Investigation Unit detectives charged the 13-year-old from Cranbourne South with armed robbery, reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving when pursued by police, failure to stop, unlicensed driving, theft of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

The boy has also been charged with aggravated carjacking, violent disorder, intentionally causing injury, affray, unlawful assault, assault in company and assault by kicking in relation to a serious violent assault, which took place in Cranbourne on Friday 7 January at about 1.40am.

A 15-year-old Cranbourne North boy has been charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of cannabis, handling stolen goods and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

Both have been remanded to appear before at a Children’s’ Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old Doveton boy has been charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

A 16-year-old Dandenong boy has been charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

A 14-year-old Springvale boy has been charged with armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

All three boys have been bailed appear before at a Children’s’ Court at a later date.
