Rail line down: Buses replace trains

An equipment fault has closed down the Cranbourne and Pakenham train lines this morning (1 March).

Buses are replacing trains between Dandenong and Caulfield station, the Department of Transport stated.

“Passengers are experiencing significant delays and are urged to allow plenty of extra time.”

PTV advised commuters to add an extra 35 minutes to their journey.

“It is not known at this stage when normal services will resume.

“We encourage passengers travelling on this line today to plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey, and consider alternative travel plans, such as altering your departure time, or using a different mode of public transport.

“We sincerely apologise for the disruption and thank passengers for their patience.”
