Lyppards Road closed after grassfire

Five hectares of grass was burnt in Langwarrin this afternoon.

20 CFA vehicles were on the scene at Lyppards Road and air support also assisted getting the scene under control by 2.22pm after CFA were notified of the grassfire at 12.45pm.

Lyppards Road remains closed with emergency services in the areaand police assisting with traffic control.

People in Botanic Ridge, Carrum Downs, Centreville, Cranbourne, Cranbourne South, Cranbourne West, Frankston North, Langwarrin and Skye were issued with a watch and act at 1.20pm before being advised they could resume normal activities at 3.03pm.

The fire impacted upon sheds and vehicles but no houses were affected. Smoke remains visible in the area.
