Running it back

If your New Year’s resolution included exercising more and getting fit, then the Langwarrin running club might be for you.

The members are back pounding the pavement in 2022, having returned with their first group run of the year on Saturday 8 January.

The club holds a group run each Saturday morning at 7am at different locations across Frankston, Langwarrin and Cranbourne.

President of the Langwarrin Running Club Luke Raymond extended an open invitation.

“It’s open to people of all running abilities,” Mr Raymond said.

“You don’t have to be fast or be a superstar runner.”

Group runs consist of sessions between five and 10 kilometres and a well-earned coffee at a local café afterwards, building a social connection amongst the members.

Having had numerous events cancelled due to the pandemic, Mr Raymond said the group had big plans for 2022.

“We’re hoping that this year we’ll be able to find a few events that we can target.

“The Two Bays Trail Run in Dromana, the Melbourne Marathon, Sharpy’s Beer Run on the Mornington Peninsula, they’re all events that we’re going to try and get some groups together for.”

The club will host a new members’ day on Saturday 5 February at Lloyd Park in Langwarrin to welcome those are keen to join.
