New school for Clyde Creek

Students in the Clyde Creek area will start 2022 in a brand new school, as part of the State Government’s work to deliver a local school for every Victorian student.

State Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale today announced the new Clyde Creek Primary School building has reachedpractical completion, ahead of staff and students starting school in Term 1, 2022.

“Clyde is growing each day and more families are calling this beautiful area home,” Minister Crugnale said. “

We welcome Clyde Creek Primary into our school network, it has been amazing to see it come to life this last year and I really look forward to meeting the students, their families and all the staff at the first bell in 2022.”

The school will have an administration and resource intensive learning building, two learning neighbourhood buildings, a Performing Arts and Physical Education (PAPE) building, including an indoor multi-court, two hardcourts, sports field, bike shelter and playgrounds.

In the 2018–19 State Budget, $271.7 million was allocated to schools across the state for land acquisition including funding for Clyde Creek Primary School.

In 2020, the school shared in $438.6 million of funding for new schools.

Clyde Creek Primary School is one of 14 new schools and campuses opening its doors in 2022, alongside Clyde Secondary College and Bass Coast College – San Remo Campus

Every new Victorian primary school being built will have a kindergarten on-site or next door, to reduce the burden on parents and carers.

In the past seven years, the Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new

schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating more than 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries.

With 62 schools opening between 2019 and 2024, the Government is well ahead in its work to open 100 new schools by 2026.
