Suspicious Cranbourne house fire

More than 10 Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters and several CFA crews responded to a house fire on Camms Rd in Cranbourne on December 16.

A FRV spokesperson said crews arrived at the scene at 10pm, finding a single-storey brick property well alight.

“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked together to knock down the fire,” the spokesperson said.

“Firefighters brought the fire under control just after 10.35pm.

“Firefighters remained on scene to fully extinguish the blaze and put out any hot spots, then handed the scene to Victoria Police to investigate.”

Casey Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the incident at the abandoned house, which is being treated as suspicious.

A crime scene guard was placed on the property until fire investigators attended the next morning.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
