A treacherous stretch of Ballarto Road in Clyde will be resealed thanks to a funding boost from the state government.
The City of Casey welcomed the government’s recent $4.25 million commitment to reseal a poorly kept section of Ballarto Road, as part of its ongoing advocacy campaign to upgrade key arterial roads throughout Victoria.
The funds will help improve up to five kilometres of this busy road, between Clyde-Five Ways Road and Muddy Gates Lane, ensuring it will be a safe thoroughfare into the future.
The City of Casey chair of administrators Noelene Duff thanked Bass MP Jordan Crugnale for committing this funding and said it was an important improvement for Clyde.
“We look forward to the resealing works at Ballarto Road, which mark an important step to support the thousands of road users relying on this vital connection in Clyde,“ Ms Duff said.
“Ballarto Road has been identified as a key arterial road for the region and the section between Clyde-Five Ways Road and Muddy Gates Lane needs to be brought up to current arterial road standard with signalised intersections at key locations.“
“Ultimately, Ballarto Road will support the much-needed Clyde Rail Link project and integrate with the proposed Clyde railway station, train stabling and maintenance yards,“ she said.
“Upgrades to Ballarto Road, as well as the upgrade of the Clyde Road Corridor and extension and upgrade of Thompsons Road are the top arterial road projects the community and council most want to see happen.“
