Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) and Country Fire Authority (CFA) responded to a fire in Cranbourne East at 3pm on 1 November.
An FRV spokesperson said multiple calls to Triple Zero reporting visible smoke and flames made authorities aware of the fire.
“Arriving on scene within five minutes, three FRV crews alongside multiple CFA crews, arrived to find a house already fully alight and black smoke issuing from the roof,” the spokesperson said.
“Firefighters began to attack the fire from outside the residence. The fire had begun to spread from the house to nearby trees and paddocks, however, the incident was brought under control within one hour and 27 minutes.”
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended the incident, and police are investigating how the fire started.
Nine CFA vehicles supported FRV at the scene including pumpers, tankers and support vehicles.
