Our firies, protected

Members of the Cranbourne and Langwarrin Fire Brigades have rolled up their sleeves for the second time, receiving their second Covid vaccinations over the weekend.

The firefighters visited the high-volume vaccination clinic at the Cranbourne Turf Club on Saturday 26 June, where they were inoculated by Monash Health nurses.

Adam Russell, Captain of the Cranbourne Fire Brigade, urged eligible members of the community to play their part in keeping each other safe.

“It’s just to make sure everyone gets protected, to get out of the Covid restrictions and keep everyone safe,” he said.

“It feels good, doing the right thing for the community.”

Langwarrin Fire Brigade Fourth Lieutenant Malcolm Coutts said he was getting the vaccine to do the right thing by his family, friends, and brigade colleagues as well as the wider community in his role as a first responder.

“It’s making sure that we’re safe so that when we help other people, they’re safe as well,” he said.

“We’re all doing the right thing and looking after each other.”
