Triple trouble for Casey cops

A motorcyclist who was nabbed doing 199km/h in an 80km/h zone in Devon Meadows will face court to explain his reckless behaviour.

Casey Highway Patrol intercepted the 38-year-old rider on the South Gippsland Highway around 10.24am on Monday 19 April.

His motorcycle was impounded for 30 days and the Point Cook man will be charged on summons with speeding, speed dangerous and drive in a manner dangerous.

Later that afternoon Casey Highway Patrol detected another speeding driver on Thompsons Road, Cranbourne North, travelling at 112km/h in an 80km/h zone.

The 24-year-old male driver from Clyde North was issued an infringement notice with a fine of $537 and a three-month licence suspension.

Shortly after police observed a Ford utility failing to obey a red traffic light on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne.

The 41-year-old male driver from Clyde North also tested positive to an illicit substance.

He will be summonsed to attend court at a later date.
