A freighter trailer and equipment worth almost $180,000 has allegedly been stolen from a Cranbourne West property.

Casey Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives are now investigating the alleged theft which allegedly took place in late November.

Police say the incident occurred outside a property on Glenn Close sometime between 11pm on 25 November and 1am on 26 November.

It’s believed the offenders approached the parked trailer in an unknown white Volvo prime mover.

They then allegedly stole equipment from a nearby truck to connect the expensive trailer to their own vehicle before fleeing the scene with the trailer.

The trailer displayed the Victorian registration plates ‘98472 S’, police have revealed.

CCTV footage and images of the stolen trailer have been released by investigators in the hope someone may have information.

Detectives are also keen to speak to the several motorists seen driving in the area at the time of the alleged offence, in the hope that they may have dash cam footage of the unknown prime mover.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
