Staying safe at Cranbourne Park

Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre has joined forces with St John Ambulance Victoria as it continues to build on the centre’s safety measures ahead of the busy festive season.

The new partnership between Vicinity Centres and St John Ambulance will see volunteers on-site at 18 Victorian centres, providing free masks and hand sanitiser, helping customers with social distancing and providing health and safety training to Cranbourne Shopping Centre’s team.

Centre manager Andrew Gibson said both organisations share a commitment to community safety and have been working closely to review Covid-safe practices.

“We are delighted St John Ambulance Victoria is supporting the Covid-safe practices we already have in place at Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre.

“We want to help ensure our shopping centres are safe for everyone and we look forward to welcoming St John Ambulance volunteers to work alongside our security team and social distancing officers throughout the Christmas period.”Mr Gibson said the Cranbourne Centre team had been working hard, alongside retailers to return to trade, ensuring everyone had thorough Covid Safe Plans in place.

“We recognise the important role we play in operating our centres in a new, Covid safe environment, and we want our customers, retailers, teams and contractors to do the right thing to help keep each other safe,” Mr Gibson said.

The St John Ambulance partnership is in addition to Cranbourne Shopping Centre’s rigorous cleaning and sanitisation which has been ongoing since Covid first impacted our community earlier this year and will continue for the foreseeable future.

Gordon Botwright, CEO of St John Ambulance Victoria said: “At St John Ambulance Victoria, health and safety is fundamental to our mission. Everything we do, from first aid training members of the public to our volunteers in green responding to those in sickness or distress, is about making Victoria a safer place. We’re pleased to be partnering with Vicinity centres to keep Melbourne shoppers as safe as can be leading into Christmas.”

St John Ambulance Victoria officers will be in-centre on select days throughout November.
