Fears for missing man

Narre Warren State Emergency Service volunteers have joined the search for a 71-year-old man who has been missing for five days.

Police have launched an air and ground search for Malcolm Bohmeyer after he went missing while out cycling in Langwarrin on Wednesday 12 August after leaving his home on Cranbourne Road about 1.30pm.

He usually rides his black mountain bike near the Cranbourne Road – Peninsula Link bike path but has not been seen since.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said police and family held serious concerns for his welfare due to a medical condition and he had now missed his regular medication.

SES volunteers joined police on off-road motorbikes, the Air Wing, Mounted Branch and local uniform members in searching for Mr Bohmeyer at the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve and surrounding reserve areas.

Mr Bohmeyer is described as Caucasian in appearance, 160cm tall with a medium build and short grey hair.

He was wearing a blue helmet, a black long sleeve t-shirt and grey track pants.

Investigators have released an image of Mr Bohmeyer in the hope that someone may have information on his current whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Malcolm is urged to contact Carrum Downs Police Station on 8770 4100.
