Four-legged friends help kids in need

Insta-star Cleo the Frenchie has put up her paws for a worthy cause.The Cranbourne East pooch is ready to take part in Australia’s first ever charity doggie dress-up competition – Petember.

Run by Variety – the Children’s Charity Victoria, the competition aims to raise funds for assistance dogs who help improve the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, anxiety and epilepsy.

This year alone, the charity has received applications for dogs totalling over $195,000, with eight children currently on their waiting list.

Cleo has joined the fun – whose paw-rents have raised $3500 for charities within the last year.

“We just knew we wanted to help, with an already fully kitted out PAWdrobe, we knew this was the challenge for us, we absolutely can’t wait to get into costume and help raise funds and awareness!”Four-legged friends from across the country will take on weekly costume challenges over the month of September in a bid to win prizes and score themselves special treats along the way.
