Police are appealing for help from the public to identify a ‘persistent thief’ who is targeting shops in Cranbourne.
Investigators have been told a man entered an electronics store at Cranbourne Shopping Centre about 3.50pm on 29 May.
Police allege the man attempted to steal a pair of Bose headphones and was confronted by a staff member.
He threatened the staff member, claiming he had a knife, before leaving the store empty handed, police say.
Shortly afterwards the man entered a bottle shop at the complex and allegedly stole an amount of liquor.
Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
Anyone who recognises the man or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
