Cranbourne East’s Marnebek School has welcomed hundreds of visitors to its annual art expo.
The multi-purpose room was adorned with a huge display of student artwork including painting, sculptures and ceramics across all year levels from 21-22 November.
Titled ‘Colour Your World,’ the art show also featured interactive displays inspired by Japanese Artist, Yayoi Kusama and her love of polka dots.
Students were inspired to create pieces by great artists and contemporary artists – which they prepared throughout the year.
Visual art teacher Larraine Blackburn said the students did an amazing job.
“The art process has developed other skills such as critical thinking, resilience and confidence to have a go,” she said.
“Students , families, staff and other visitors were encouraged to place polka dots across two room set installations. The end results look fantastic.
“There was also opportunity to dress as Yayoi Kusama in her very distinctive red polka dot outfit and red wig.”
Ms Blackburn said visitors to the exhibition could also dress as artist Frida Kahlo and sit in the Frida Exhibit surrounded by her inspired artworks.
“This was a very popular photo opportunity for students and adults”.
Striped t-shirts and masks also enabled students to dress as Picasso and pose near the fabulous cardboard ‘Weeping Woman.’
The senior school VCAL café class provided refreshments and visitors could sit in the café surrounded by gratitude and positivity quotes.
The show was officially opened by Casey councillor Amanda Stapledon and the school’s rock band also entertained crowds with performances.
