Fighting cancer with light

Cranbourne’s Latrobe Street Reserve will be transformed into a sea of light at an upcoming fundraising walk.

Cranbourne Lions Club is gearing up for its annual Light the Night event, which raises funds for the Leukaemia Foundation’s life-changing research and support activities.

On Saturday 12 October, Casey residents are invited to come together for a memorial walk through Latrobe Street Reserve to shine a light on blood cancer.

Participants will walk besides friends and family in support, reflect on their own blood cancer journey, and remember loved ones lost to the disease.

The event is suitable for the whole family, with Roary the Lion meeting and greeting families and leading the memorial walk.

Colouring activities will also be available near the playground.

Cranbourne Lions will host a free community BBQ at 5.30pm, with the walk to commence at 7.30pm.

Residents can register their attendance at https://lightthenight.org.au/events/cranbourne and reserve a lantern to be picked up on the night.
