Police swoop on car bandits

Police have arrested three people in relation to a series of vehicle thefts and a carjacking in Cranbourne on Monday 1 April.

There were multiple incidents which took place in the South Eastern suburbs starting at 12.36pm, police allege.

The arrests were made on the South Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne about 2.35pm.

A police investigation is underway and detectives are urging anyone who may have dash-cam footage or who may have witnessed this incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or alternatively make a confidential report via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

In a statement, Vic Traffic says the South Gippsland Highway closed both ways between Thompsons Road and Camms Road.

“There are significant delays in the area and the closure is likely to remain into the afternoon peak. Use Narre Warren Road or Western Port Highway instead,” it said.
