Water main leaks fixed

South East Water (SEW) responded to two water leaks on service pipes in Cranbourne last week.

SEW worked with the City of Casey to have a tree removed in order to access a leak on Lamont Crescent in Cranbourne with repairs completed on Thursday 14 March.

In a statement, SEW said: “We’re responding to a leak on a service pipe on Endeavour Drive in Cranbourne North. To complete the repairs, we again worked with the City of Casey to organise our crews to help access the pipe under a tree. We’ll be on site to complete the repairs on Friday 22 March.”

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience these leaks and works may have caused residents in the area,” the statement added.

Resident Dot, who asked not to publish her surname, said she was disappointed action was taken quickly to repair the Endeavour Drive leak.

“I just think it was taken too long to be fixed because water just trickling all the way down for about a week and half,” she said.

“It was other people who complained too. It doesn’t really take long to come out and do it.

“They just said it’s been noted down for a job but could do nothing until the council came out and saw it,” she added.

Another resident Barrie, who asked not to publish his surname, said he had to ring twice for workers to come out and fix the leak on Lamont Crescent.

“The seepage was coming up underneath the tree. It was more than two weeks of water dripping down the footpath,” he said.

“It’s ridiculous…waste and water is a precious thing.”
