Manhunt underway

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly assaulted his pregnant partner before fleeing in a car which may have been dumped in Cranbourne West on Tuesday 27 November.

The man left the Mentone address in an aqua-green Toyota Yaris sedan, registration WJQ334 with a 10-month-old child stating he is going to harm the baby and himself.

Police pursued the vehicle along the Monash Freeway and lost sight of it near Eastlink shortly after 1pm.

Star News understands the car may have been seen parked in Cranbourne West but this has yet to be confirmed.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone who sights the vehicle is urged not to approach it and to contact 000.
