A Sandhurst man has been caught allegedly almost six times the legal blood alcohol limit on Friday 23 November.

Police intercepted the 38-year-old male driver on the Peninsula Link in Carrum Downs about 6.40pm where he returned breath test reading of 0.296.

Somerville Highway Patrol impounded the man’s car.

Numerous calls were made to 000 reporting an erratic driver on Peninsula Link heading north.

His licence was immediately suspended and his car impounded for 30 days.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving offences.
