Alkira Secondary College’s 10th birthday celebrations have continued with past students and staff gathering for a special assembly on Friday 23 November.

Guests included the Mayor of the City of Casey Amanda Stapledon, members of Dandenong-Cranbourne RSL, members of Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and Brendan Kincade from the Vietnam Veterans Education Team.

Past principal Ian McKenzie and current principal John Shaw also delivered speeches about the history of the school to mark the milestone, which has seen the school’s enrolments grow from about a 100 to 1,200 students.

Student leaders said it was “wonderful to see how much our school has achieved.”

“I didn’t realise that Alkira Secondary College had such an interesting history,” student Sherry said

Gulpreet said “It was delightful to know more about the development of our school.”

A celebratory function followed at Bunjil Place in the evening.
