Jake Tilton, who is running as a Greens candidate for the Cranbourne electorate, says “It’s time to build a sense of unity within our wonderful community.”
A candidate in the 2016 election for the Holt federal division, Mr Tilton says he’s proud to be continuing the push for a better Cranbourne.
He has vowed to improve public transport in the region which he says is “dismal at best,” with trains and buses not operating to a “high enough standard.”
Public housing, he says, is being sold off much quicker than it is built.
“Privatisation is gripping our state, driving up bills and letting people slip through the cracks,” Mr Tilton said.
“The environment is being vandalised by the major parties in order to satisfy their developer donors at the big end of town.
“Communities are divided by fear-mongering and scare campaigns about youth gangs, when co-operation and solidarity are the backbone of our neighbourhoods.”
Mr Tilton said the Greens plan to tackle these issues proactively.
“We have exciting, innovative plans to improve public transport, stop the sell offs and return services like electricity to public hands, increase public housing so everyone has a safe place to call home and protect our beautiful forests,” he said.
“Cranbourne is a wonderful place to live and I’m so glad to be a part of this community. With the implementation of Greens policies, it can be even better. Together, we can create changes that will guarantee a better future for all of us.”
