State Highway Patrol officers put the brakes on a drink driver in Cranbourne West on Tuesday 6 November.
Police intercepted a vehicle on Duff Street about 4pm, with the driver testing positive to a preliminary breath test.
The Cranbourne man was taken back to the police station for an evidentiary test, recording an alleged reading of .230.
The 49-year-old, who was also allegedly driving with a suspended licence, is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other driving-related offences.
His car was impounded at a cost of $1038.
It was one of several impounds across the Casey and Dandenong areas by State Highway Patrol officers across the weekend and formed part of Operation Furlong, a state-wide road policing operation over the Melbourne Cup Carnival weekend.
The operation, which has now finished, focused on the safety of all road users over the period, targeting drink and drug driving, speed, distraction, fatigue and seatbelt use.
