Students at Devon Meadows Primary School will be raising money for their school with exercise as the school takes part in the School Fun-Run on 23 November.
Last year 50,558 students took part in the fundraising activity raising more than $828,050.09 for the state.
Nikki Mitchem said students have so far enjoyed setting their fundraising goals.
“Our students have been involving family and friends in their fundraising efforts for school resources, while they gear up for our Fun-Run,” Ms Mitchem said.
School Fun Runs connect local schools with the wider community to raise vital funds for schools while promoting student health and financial education.
Last year more than $4.3 million was raised by schools, with $72,842 raised by the highest fundraising school and $8,023 raised by the highest fundraising student.
Now in its 31st year of supporting schools, the School Fun-Run has proudly assisted them to raise more than $100 million in that time.
This year over 280,000 students will participate in the Fun Run, collectively they will run 560,000 kilometres which is the equivalent of running 13 times around the world.
School Fun-Runs help children learn about setting and achieving financial goals and establishing healthy habits that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Parents, families, neighbours and local businesses are offering their support and donations to Devon Meadows Primary School students who will be getting fit and having fun in the name of fundraising for their school.
