Libs promise $3m upgrade for Lynbrook school

The Liberals have made a strong pitch for the family vote, pledging a $3 million upgrade of St Francis de Sales Primary School, Lynbrook if they win the state election this month.

A new multi-purpose hall will be built as the Coalition says choice was critical for parents to have the option of low-fee, independent and Catholic schools.

The announcement follows the Liberal Nationals commitment of $400 million for capital upgrades for non-government schools.

Shadow Minister for Education Tim Smith said: “Only the Liberal Nationals have a plan to get back in control of the population squeeze and give parent’s the choice and children the best opportunities in their education.”

Liberal Candidate for Cranbourne Ann-Marie Hermans said Lynbrook was a growing area and it was important for students to have access to modern and contemporary facilities.

“St Francis de Sales Primary School is a wonderful local school and this upgrade will provide further education opportunity for this growing community,” she said.

Labor has been contacted for comment.
