Some of the South-East region’s best businesses are vying for this year’s Casey Cardinia Business Awards. In the lead-up to the gala presentation dinner on Friday 26 October, the News will profile the nominees in each category. This week we look at Health, Education and Well-being and Home-based Businesses.

Health, Education and Well-being

YMCA Casey

With around 8,000 staff and volunteers, YMCA Victoria delivers services at more than 150 locations every day in settings including camps, student accommodation, community recreation and sporting facilities, swimming pools, early education, schools and kindergartens, youth services and youth justice facilities.

The YMCA in Casey manage seven recreation centres for the City of Casey: Casey ARC, Casey RACE, Doveton Pool in the Park, Casey Stadium, Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre, Berwick Leisure Centre and Olive Road Sporting Complex.

Beaconsfield Dental

Beaconsfield Dental is a modern, progressive dental clinic in Berwick providing all aspects of dental care to the community in an environmentally sustainable manner.

The firm’s motto is ’Beaconsfield Dental – Caring for the community and the environment’.

Dr Robert Panjkov established Beaconsfield Dental 30 years ago in 1988. Now, three decades on and a new location later, he works alongside his wife Lisa, their two daughters Melissa and Jacinta, and an experienced team of dentists.

Bfirm Personal Training

Established in 2007, Bfirm Personal Training was created to meet a demand in the market for personalised training solutions, tailoring sessions to each individual’s specific goals. This personalised approach includes mentoring, rehabilitation (pre and post surgery/injury), and specialised training (eg. pregnancy).

Bfirm also extends to its members alliances with fellow Casey Cardinia health and lifestyle businesses such as myotherapy, physiotherapy, nutritional services and general practicioners, offering an all encompassing well-being approach.

“The culture developed in our business is all about building a community and providing an environment where our clients can reach their goals while having fun and being motivated by fellow Bfirm members and staff,“ said owner Michael Harold.

Home-based businesses

KoKayDee

Trian Wickramasinghe says he “liberates plants from pots and creates dangling sculptural objects of desire out of coconut fibre and string“.

“We simply call them KoKayDees! “

Mr Wickramasinghe said each pot is hand-made with love in Berwick.

“Each and every KoKayDee is 100 per cent natural and has their own unique personality.“

Sold By Group

Andy Ried says the mission at Sold By Group is to “communicate and inspire so that others can also find happiness“.

“We provide professional services in auctioneering, marketing support and donate our services to charity and non-profit organisations.

“We are a team of auctioneers, public speakers and professional marketing consultants who love to make noise either in public or online for your cause!“

Travel Managers

Nicole Edgar is a personal travel manager who, for the past 10 years, has been operating her TravelManagers (Narre Warren South) mobile travel agency business, designing personalised, customised and tailor-made leisure holidays for clients.

Ms Edgar’s goal is to enhance her clients’ overall travel experience.

She said her vision was to create life-long positive memories for her travelling clients.
