A woman has been arrested and a man is still outstanding following a pursuit in Cranbourne on September 20.
Police first spotted the Ford wagon displaying false plates travelling at high speed on Breens Road, Cranbourne about 12.15am.
It was tracked to a petrol station on McClelland Drive, Frankston where a passenger attempted to refuel the vehicle.
An attempt was made to intercept the car at the service station and it sped off leaving the female passenger behind.
The passenger, a 19-year-old Cranbourne woman, was subsequently arrested as she attempted to flee on foot.
A pursuit was initiated before being terminated for safety reasons.
The vehicle was tracked to Elwood where it was dumped in Coleridge Street just before 1am.
Police conducted a search of the area but could not locate the driver.
