135 new parking spaces for Lynbrook

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will make it easier for commuters to find a car park, building over 11,000 new spaces at stations across the state.

Premier Daniel Andrews and Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan visited Dandenong Station, alongside local Member Gabrielle Williams, to announce an extra 1500 new station car parks along the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.

That includes at least 135 new spaces at Lynbrook Station, with Cranbourne Station to benefit from at least 400 extra parks, up from the current 683.

“Commuters driving to both Cranbourne and Lynbrook Railway Stations are winners here,” Member for Cranbourne Jude Perera said.

“This compliments the extra car parks delivered at Merinda Park Railway Station recently by Labor.

“Unfortunately when the Liberals were last in government – they ran our local public transport into the ground whilst Labor is getting on with it.”

The extra spaces are expected to relieve pressure along the lines, unclogging neighbouring streets and alleviating the need for commuters to ‘car park hop’, driving from station to station in order to find a park.

Premier Daniel Andrews said, “We know how frustrating it is to get to the train station but not be able to find a car park. That’s why Labor will create 11,000 new parks across the state.”
