A house in Cranbourne has been gutted by a fire on Wednesday 15 August.

The CFA received a call about 6.30am to attend the single-storey unit on Darcy Court, where they found the house completely ablaze.

Five fire appliances attended including a breathing apparatus van from Bayswater and it took crews from Narre Warren and Cranbourne less than half an hour to bring the blaze under control, but it is understood the house was all but destroyed.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed a woman in her 40s was assessed by paramedics at the scene for non-life threatening burns to her hands and was currently in a stable condition at Casey Hospital.

Another vicitim whose gender and age is not known at this stage was treated for smoke inhalation but did not suffer any injuries.

Fire investigators have attended the scene as well as police.
