Insight view of Bunjil

Lifting its curtains to the public for the first time, visitors had the rare opportunity to see what goes on behind-the-scenes at Bunjil Place.

The grand arts precinct participated in Open House Melbourne on the weekend of 28-29 July alongside some of Melbourne’s best of the best in architecture and design.

Casey Council spokeswoman Chloe Casey said the open weekend provided visitors an opportunity to explore their interests in building design and learn more about the multi-award winning facility.

“It was the public’s chance to come and see all of the public spaces at Bunjil Place, and a full behind-the-scenes experience for those lucky enough to secure a spot on the pre-booked tour,” she said.

Visitors also had exclusive access to FJMT Architect Geoff Croker and Acting CEO City of Casey and former director of Bunjil Place, Steve Dalton who talked about how the Bunjil Place project went from a pie-in-the-sky concept to a benchmark building.

And for the kids, Bailey the Bandicoot dropped in to help provide a self-guided tour.

With 220 venues opening their doors to the public across Melbourne, tens of thousands of people came out to celebrated architecture through a collection of tours, talks and events in the largest program Open House Melbourne has presented.
