Firefighters responded to a gas pipe fire in Cranbourne East on Saturday 23 June.
Three CFA trucks from Cranbourne and Narre Warren fire brigades were called out to a ruptured gas main at a Greenglade Way property, which was believed to be hit by a construction worker at about 12.50pm, a CFA spokesman said.
The fire was brought under control just before 1pm.
Ambulance Victoria said a man in his 50s was treated at the scene for burns to his face but did not require hospitalisation.
CFA issued a safety message for Cranbourne, Cranbourne East, and Junction Village. However, there was no immediate threat to the community.
A gas company was also in attendance.
