Expect delays on Thompsons Road

Sign detours will be in place on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne as road works go underway.

Traffic will be closed in both directions between Marriott and Merinda Park Boulevards from 9pm Friday 22 June until 7pm Sunday 24 June.

VicRoads says essential works are required to realign the Evans Road roundabout to match the new traffic lanes on Thompsons Road.

Road safety barriers will be realigned, and new signs and line marking added before the opening the newly constructed northern bridge.

Signed detours will be in place via Western Port Highway, Hall Road, Cranbourne-Frankston Road, South Gippsland Highway and Central Parkway.

Also, while works take place as part of the Abbotts Road Level Crossing Removal Project, buses will replace trains between Dandenong and Cranbourne until last service tonight (Friday 22 June).

Expect a busier run on the Monash and Princes Hwy as a result.
