Security guard injured

A security guard from Hampton Park suffered minor injuries after intervening in an assault at a business premises in South Melbourne this morning, 15 June.

The 52-year-old man had secured a man following an assault between a male customer and female employee at the York Street address, police say.

The security guard and the man were involved in a scuffle before St Kilda police arrived and arrested a 42-year-old Melbourne man just after 10.30am.

The Hampton Park man and a 57-year-old female from East Bentleigh both sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
