Children and educators have banded together to raise $200 for the Cranbourne fire brigade.

Clarendon Street Childcare Cooperative Cranbourne, a not-for-profit organisation, organised the sale of raffle tickets over a two-week period and presented a cheque of the total money raised to the brigade on 17 April.

Director Janine Morris said the funds were raised were in appreciation for the brigade’s annual visit to the centre in teaching children about fire safety and the role firefighters have in the community.

“Our children’s families and educators purchased tickets and with this we were able to donate $200 to them. On their return visit our children presented them with a handmade card and cheque,” said Ms Morris.

Cranbourne CFA Senior Station Officer Ian Glass said the brigade was highly appreciative of the donation which would go towards buying new equipment and assisting with their daily operations.
