Caught on cam

By Brendan Rees

A Cranbourne North man has been left frustrated after footage captured brazen thieves allegedly stealing his custom-made trailer from the front of his home last week.
Andrew Lyt posted on Facebook’s Casey Crime Page of a man pulling up in a white sedan before connecting the trailer to his car and driving off just before 9am on Thursday, 22 March.
Mr Lyt’s said a CCTV camera installed at his home captured the moment his small enclosed, twin wheel trailer was taken from his nature strip. He asked not to reveal the street but added it happened near Glasscocks Road.
The trailer, worth about $500, was matt black in colour with a sticker on the right side saying ‘Nick Wiseman.’
Mr Lyt added the trailer was not registered and the tow ball was not locked.
He said couldn’t believe such low lives had taken the trailer which was used for trips to carry motorbikes for his sons, aged 10 and 12.
“It was a handy little trailer we would use all the time. My son races motocross,” he said.
“They were spewing. The 10 year old wanted me to take him riding. I was going to take the car and the trailer. Next thing the frigging trailer’s gone so he couldn’t go.”
“I’ve actually got a van as well but I put all the bikes normally in the trailer then I put all the other stuff in the van and we go away.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Mr Lyt on 0427 835 891.
