Youngsters get into Easter spirit

By Brendan Rees

With Easter fast approaching, three year-old Seagulls at Tooradin Primary School have been enjoying an array of fun Easter activities.
From decorating Easter eggs with stickers, stamps and ink to playing games – these excitable Seagulls can’t wait for the Easter bunny to arrive.
“They have been exploring and drawing what they wish the Easter bunny to bring them and share stories (made up or real) about why they love Easter and why they are excited for the celebrations to begin,” said Three Year Old Seagulls Coordinator, Eilleen Baker.
“They have been joining in playing games such as ‘How many Eggs in the Basket’ and ‘Bunning Hopping Race’ and learning the song ‘Easter Bunny’.”
The children have embraced the spirit of Easter so much they even wear a set of bunny ears and hats during their sessions, she said.
“Many children expressed their love for chocolate, hot crust buns and spending time with mum and dad to find presents and chocolate eggs.”
“We are even hoping that a special furry friend might visit school before the end of term,” Ms Baker said.
