A 48 year-old Cranbourne North truck driver came to the aid of a motorcyclist after a collision on the Monash Freeway on Tuesday, 13 February.
It is believed a motorcycle clipped a grey Toyota RAV4 and crashed into the back of a stationary truck on the Monash Freeway near Springvale Road in Mulgrave at about 6.10am.
The male rider, a 35-year-old Langwarrin man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The truck driver and the driver of the car, a 21-year-old man from Rowville, were both uninjured and stopped at the scene to assist.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined.
Police are investigating whether lane splitting may have been a contributing factor.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or witnessed any erratic driving prior to the collision to come forward.
The motorcycle involved is a black and yellow 2013 Suzuki VZR-180.
