Neighbour unnerved by break-in

By Brendan Rees

Casey Crime Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses following an alleged aggravated burglary in Cranbourne North on Tuesday, 30 January.
Investigators have been told an unknown man and woman entered a Lumina Avenue home via an unlocked sliding door at about 2.30pm.
Whilst inside the property the male and female have ransacked the main bedroom, stealing a hand bag and jewellery, valued at about $1200.
A man was inside the home at the time and it’s believed the intruders left the property in a silver Toyota ute.
A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was at work at the time but had CCTV footage which filmed the male and female going to and from the property.
“They (intruders) walked down our street, straight to that place, opened the front and went in.”
“They went into the bedroom and started to overturn the room and then they got confronted by the son of the owner.”
“They got startled there and he just yelled at them to get out and they basically walked out. They grabbed a whole of jewellery, a handbag and few other bits and pieces.”
He said the intruders left in a vehicle. “We believe it’s a Toyota. We haven’t got a definitive registration – it’s quite blurred.”
The neighbour said his camera captured a female walking down his street with a handbag strapped over her shoulder – which is believed to have been stolen in the burglary.
“The male looks like he’s drawn fake facial hair on his face. When they left the premises, my next door neighbour’s camera shows them taking all their work clothes off.”
He said he was very unnerved by the incident.
“It makes me sick to the stomach that these brazen attacks are happening and it really worries me.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers or Casey Crime Investigation Unit on 9705 3111.
