South Gippsland Highway closed

A collison has forced the closure of The South Gippsland Highway in both directions north of Thompsons Road.
The road is expected to be closed through this evening’s peak hour.
All traffic will be detoured via Thompsons Road / Evans Road.
Western Port Highway is also an alternative route.
Thompsons Road is already heavy in both directions between the Western Port Highway and the South Gippsland Highway.
VicRoads says this closure is under Victoria Police control, and cannot say when the road will re-open.
Emergency services are on site.
VicRoads is monitoring the area and adjusting traffic lights to assist with congestion, where possible.
