Police are hunting for a bandit following an armed robbery in Cranbourne North on Sunday 7 January.
Police were called to a convenience store near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and the South Gippsland Highway about 1.20pm.
Investigators have been told a male allegedly threatened the attendant with a hand gun and made demands for cash.
The male left in a Mercedes Benz which was involved in a collision with two vehicles on Hallam Road.
The car was then dumped on Coral Drive, Hampton Park before the male fled the scene.
Police recovered an imitation hand gun from the dumped vehicle.
No injuries have been reported to police in either of the incidents.
The offender is perceived to be of African appearance, about 163cm tall with a slim build and was believed to be bare foot.
