Heightened hunt for candy

By Brendan Rees

Cranbourne kids donned their scariest mask for Halloween on Tuesday 31 October.
Many invaded the streets in their hunt for candy, and big kids celebrated the occasion, too.
Laura Bailey of Cranbourne West decorated her home in Ceres Way with everything spooky.
“We like to mix up our decorations each year, so this year we have included a cut out haunted house and giant spider webs along with a new smoke machine and strobe light,” she said.
“It’s great fun for all ages and really encourages neighbours and kids to get out and meet each other. It is wonderful to see so much excitement in the kids’ faces.”
She said her three-year-old son Jimmy loved trick or treating and having other kids come over to the house.
“Our estate has lots of families and is a great community with lots of houses that participate.”
